MAX RB TOOL HISTORY

MAX developed and manufactured the world’s first battery-operated rebar tying tool and released it to the Japanese market in 1993. The original rebar tying tool was the RB262. The RB262 was powered by a Ni-Cad battery and had a single arm to guide the wire that was feed to form a tie. Since then MAX has introduced several enhancements to its rebar tying tools, but in 1993 this then new technology transformed the reinforcing steel industry by increasing worker efficiency, cutting operating costs for companies and reducing back and musculoskeletal injuries amongst reinforcing ironworkers.

MAX rebar tiers were first introduced to the US market in 1998. Distinct from the original RB262 model the RB392 had a grey body, two arm guides, and a more enclosed magazine for holding wire.

Every generation of MAX rebar tying tools bring greater efficiency and productivity to job sites around the world. The RB441T is the latest innovation in the history of MAX rebar tying tools and the efficiency continues to increase.

1998 RB392
Released in the USA market. Able to tie approx. 360 ties per charge with a Ni-Cd 9.6V battery.

2004 RB395
Released with durability upgrades.

2009 RB397
Released with a new 3.0Ah Lithium-ion battery that tied approx. 2,000 ties per charge.

2015 RB398
Released with a new 4.0 Ah Lithium-ion battery that tied approx. 2,600 ties per charge.

2017 RB441T
Released as the 1st model of the TWINTIER. RB441T has a tighter tie, faster speed, increased wire capacity and a greater number of ties per charge of 4,000 ties.

2024 RB443T
The TWINTIER® RB443T is the fastest solution on the market for tying wire mesh x wire mesh up to #7 on #7 rebar combinations. Increased battery capacity to 5,000 ties per charge
